The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence provides education, information, help and hope in the fight against the chronic, often fatal disease of alcoholism and other drug addictions. Founded in 1944, NCADD is a voluntary health organization with a nationwide network of affiliates. NCADD advocates prevention, intervention, research and treatment and is dedicated to ridding the disease of its stigma and its sufferers from their denial and shame. |

ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS® is a fellowship of men and women who share
their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common
problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. | The Addiction Technology Transfer Center of New England, formerly known as the Addiction Training Center of New England (ATC-NE), was initiated in 1993. In response to a perceived shortage in the public sector of well-trained addiction treatment professionals and a U.S. Congressional mandate, the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) funded the establishment of eleven Addiction Training Centers across the United States. | ||

To carry out our mission, the Department conducts a wide range of
activities. These programs range from preventing infectious disease to licensing
child care facilities to delivering mental health and substance abuse services to conducting biological and
environmental laboratory testing. The Department supports a wide array services
including an innovative statewide
tobacco education and prevention program targeted at youth and pregnant women. Health
