The following is a summary of the current benefits and services available to affiliate members.
The Association develops and maintains reference material and other sources of information for use by members. Items purchased through the Bookstore are provided at member/non-member rates including CMHAM publications, training workbooks, Boardworks DVD series, and publisher discounts on national publications.
Association Recognition Awards
The Hal Madden Outstanding Service, David LaLumia Outstanding Professional Service, Go to Bat for Mental Health, and Nuebacher Media Awards are presented annually to professionals who are recognized and celebrated for their achievements in the mental health industry. Affiliate members will receive nominating privileges for these Association Recognition Awards which are presented annually.
The Boardworks training program is available to all affiliate members. This nationally recognized certificate program assists board members in understanding their role in setting organizational policy and improving their governance practices.
Channing-Bete Scriptographic Books
Association and Affiliate Members are eligible for a discount of up to 42% of regular price on specialized Scriptographic books with complete flexibility concerning the timing of order and booklet selection.
Conferences and Education
The Association provides several annual conferences, frequent seminars, networking meetings and regional education events on topics regarding mental health, developmental disabilites and substance use disorders. Affiliate members receive member rates for Association sponsored conferences and trainings, including clinical, administrative and board member events. This is a savings of approximately 20% from non-member rates.
Group Purchasing Initiatives
The Association regularly brokers group purchases for its members. In the past, this has included office equipment and supplies, publications, and products. New products and services are regularly evaluated on behalf of our members in an effort to maximize our collective purchasing power.
Job Bank/Staff Recruitment
The purpose of the Job Bank/Staff Recruitment Project is to strengthen member organizations by helping in their efforts to secure highly qualified staff. The Project is a cost-free service to Member and Affiliate Member organizations and to all potential job applicants. Only Members and Affiliate Members may post a job opening.
CMHAM serves as a legislative voice at the state and feeral levels of government. The Association evaluates pending state and national legislation and provides regular updates and alerts on current issues regarding mental health. This includes policy and appropriations, as well as the Association's position on these issues. Action alerts are also sent to members and affiliate members as issues and situations arise. Members also have the opportunity to participate in the Association's Political Action Committee.

National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare
Through a special arrangement, CMHAM members and Affiliate Members will receive a 50% discount in their annual membership in the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare.
The Provider Alliance
The Provider Alliance network is an integral part of Michigan’s mental health system, which provides a comprehensive network of services to promote consumer independence and inclusion in community life. Read More.
Community Mental Health Association of Michigan Affiliate Membership
Dues are based on size of budget:
- $474 for budgets up to $2,499,999
- $960 for budgets between $2,500,000 and $4,999,999
- $2,645 for budgets of $5,000,000 and above
